Charles Goetz

Chief Executive Officer

Charles Goetz is the CEO of Powercast Corporation, the leading provider of far-field RF-based wireless power technology. He has more than 30 years of professional management, financial and startup experience. Charles is a former Goldman Sachs Managing Director as well as the Founder and Managing Partner of VP Theta Fund.

Dr. Charles Greene is the Chief Operating and Technical Officer of Powercast Corporation, the leading provider of far-field RF-based wireless power, inductive technologies, and magnetic resonance. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2001, 2002, and 2006, respectively. Dr. Greene specializes in RF, Antenna Design, and RFID. With over 20 years of experience, he is a co-inventor of over 100 patents and has numerous other foreign and pending applications in the wireless power and RFID fields. Dr. Greene has published numerous articles and presented at various industry-leading conferences in the US, Europe, and Japan.

Dan received his B.S. degree in Computer Engineering and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. With over 20 years of experience at Powercast, Dan is a co-inventor on several patents in RF energy harvesting. He plays a pivotal role in project management, sales, business development, IT, operations, and administration, overseeing both internal and external product developments and managing engineering teams. Dan continues to collaborate closely with high-profile companies in partnership with Powercast.


Outside of his professional commitments, Dan enjoys playing drums in a classic rock band and cherishes spending time with his family.

Eric earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He specializes in PCB design, Schematic Capture, Wireless Communications, RF Design, Antennas, IP Creation and Analysis, Business Development, Regulatory Compliance, and Mathematical Modeling and Simulation. His professional background includes extensive contributions to Class III medical device design, antenna, RF, and PCB design, as well as nano-power electrical design. He holds multiple issued patents in medical device design and RF Energy Harvesting, with numerous pending applications in wireless power and RFID fields. Eric has presented at industry-leading conferences and seminars in the US on topics ranging from RF/inductive power transfer to defibrillator hardware architecture.


Eric was the first Co-op student to be hired full-time at Powercast and is credited with bringing the next generation of Co-ops into the organization. Outside of his professional endeavors, Eric runs multiple real estate investment companies. He also enjoys playing live music and ice hockey.

John graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 2006. John is specialized in embedded systems design, engineering management, and regulatory compliance. He has 7 years of experience with Powercast and a total of 19 years in the industry. John was responsible for the design, testing, and release of Powercast’s first consumer wireless power transmitter and receiver. He has held positions in middle management, upper management, and project management, thriving in both small start-up companies and large corporate teams. John possesses intimate knowledge of certification procedures for FCC, CE, and FDA. Outside of work, he dedicates time to weightlifting, running, yoga, bass fishing, playing music (drums, guitar, bass), and renovating his house and his wife’s businesses.

Jason attended Penn State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. With over 11 years of experience, Jason has held engineering positions in the automotive, medical, and RF industries.  Currently, Jason is Powercast‘s Director of Research and Development and contributed to the development of products in the areas of antenna design, RF design, and low-power electrical design. He holds multiple patents in the RF harvesting field, which have contributed to increased performance across Powercast products. Additionally, he serves as the project lead on Powercast’s new chip design efforts.

Alan Neves

Director of Sales

Alan Neves attended Duquesne University, where he studied Pharmacy, and later pursued Business at Ursinus College. He is specialized in sales and business development, with a focus on RFID and digital communication technologies. Alan has 2 years of experience with Powercast and a total of over 20 years in the industry. Before joining Powercast, he spent 17 and a half years at Vanguard ID Systems, leading their RFID division, and served as a Co-founder, VP of Sales, and Board Member at Cirrus Digital Communications, where he helped deliver high-speed digital services to the MDU/MTU and Hospitality marketplace. At Powercast, Alan leverages his extensive industry relationships to introduce customers to innovative wireless power solutions. Outside of work, he values his role as a husband and father to boy/girl twins. Alan’s early achievement as one of the youngest Eagle Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America continues to shape his approach to leadership and integrity.
