Charles Goetz
Charles Goetz is the CEO of Powercast Corporation, the leading provider of far-field RF-based wireless power technology. He has more than 30 years of professional management, financial and startup experience. Charles was the VP of Theta Fund from 2003 to 2010 and is a former Goldman Sachs managing director. Charles Greene Ph.D.
Dr. Charles Greene is the chief operating and technical officer of Powercast Corporation, the leading provider of far-field RF-based wireless power technology. He has over twenty years of experience in the Radio Frequency (RF) field, including nineteen years at Powercast. Dr. Greene is an expert in wireless power transfer, antenna design, and RFID. He has more than thirty issued US patents and many other foreign and pending patents in the wireless power and RFID fields. Dr. Greene has published many articles and presented at various industry-leading conferences in the US, Europe, and Japan. He received a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2001, 2002, and 2006, respectively.
Daniel W. Harrist, Director of Engineering Services
Dan received his B.S. degree in Computer Engineering and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. His primary research focus was RF energy harvesting and his thesis was titled “Wireless Battery Charging System Using Radio Frequency Energy Harvesting.” In his 18+ years with Powercast, he has been a co-inventor on several patents and patent applications in the field of RF energy harvesting. He has served as project lead on numerous internal and external product developments, managing many of the engineers at Powercast. He continues to work directly with many high profile companies in partnership with Powercast.
Eric Biel
Eric earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2010 and 2012 respectively. His thesis work included both "Effects of Ground Plane Size on PCB Edge Mount Antennas" and "Design Issues in Multi-Band RF Energy Harvesting". His professional background includes extensive experience in Class III (life supporting/sustaining) medical device design, antenna, RF and PCB design as well as nano-power electrical design. He has multiple issued patents in fields ranging from medical device design to RF Energy Harvesting with numerous pending applications in the wireless power and RFID fields. Mr. Biel has presented at a host of industry leading conferences and seminars in the US on topics ranging from RF/inductive power transfer to defibrillator hardware architecture.
John Macho
John graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 2006. Over the last 17 years John has gained experience in cradle to grave design for medical, consumer, and commercial systems. In addition to design experience, John has also held positions in middle management, upper management, and project management. John has been a part of and is comfortable in small start-up companies and large corporate teams. He has intimate knowledge of certification procedures for FCC, CE, and FDA.
Jason Gill
Jason attended Penn State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. With over 6 years of experience, Jason has held engineering positions in the automotive, medical, and RF industries.
Currently, Jason is Powercast‘s Director of Research and Development and contributed to the development of products in the areas of antenna design, RF design, and low-power electrical design. He holds multiple patents in the RF harvesting field, which have contributed to increased performance across Powercast products. Additionally, he serves as the project lead on Powercast’s new chip design efforts.
Hank Gasbarro
Hank is a highly accomplished sales executive with a proven track record of success. He earned his degree in Human Resource Management from Geneva College and has over 20 years of experience in the technology sales industry, where he has held several leadership roles in sales and operations. During his career, Hank excelled as a multi-unit manager, where he was recognized for his strategic thinking and ability to develop and lead successful sales teams. Since 2019, he has served as the Director of Business Development at Powercast and is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, as well as expanding opportunities with existing customers.
Alan Neves
Alan Neves has over 20 years of experience in sales and business development. In 2022, He began working as the Director of Sales at Powercast Corporation. From 2005 to present, he has been the Global RFID Account Manager at Vanguard ID Systems, responsible for radio frequency identification (RFID) business development and sales. In 2004, he was the VP of Business Development at International Broadband Network, Inc. From 1999 to 2004, He was the Co-founder, Board Member & Sr VP Business Development at Cirrus Digital Communications, Inc.
Alan Neves attended Duquesne University from 1976 to 1978, studying Pharmacy, and Ursinus College from 1988 to 1990, studying Business.
