The Wireless Bag Tag is a permanent, electronic alternative to paper-based bag tags that securely attaches to your luggage. It utilizes airport RFID equipment to update travelers’ information and track their baggage.

What We Did

Powercast’s RF harvesting technology preserves the Bag Tag’s embedded battery by keeping the device dormant until it detects and harvests RF from nearby airport RFID equipment, at which time it will update the screen if the tag isn’t already displaying the passenger’s current itinerary.  This enables the tag to be reused for over 3000 flights on a single battery, cutting down on the paper waste created by typical printed baggage tags.
