Powercast Edge Node named as a “Best Smart Infrastructure Solution” award finalist in at Sensors Converge 2026.

The nomination highlights Powercast’s continued leadership in enabling complete, scalable infrastructure through wireless power, supporting connected devices, sensing, and data systems as a unified, maintenance-free platform that delivers continuous, high-integrity data from the edge to drive automation and intelligent decision-making.

At the center of the recognition is our latest Powercast Edge Node, an ultra-thin, wireless, battery-free temperature and humidity sensor tag designed for monitoring and asset tracking. Powered by RF energy from any UHF source, including Powercast’s Edge Hub transmitter, the device transmits a unique ID via Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE), enabling seamless, real-time data collection without batteries or wires ensuring critical environmental data is always available to upstream systems without interruption.

Designed as part of a broader system, the Edge Node demonstrates how infrastructure can move beyond individual devices to fully integrated deployments. By eliminating battery maintenance and wiring constraints, Powercast enables continuous operation across distributed environments, supporting everything from facility monitoring to logistics and industrial systems while creating a reliable flow of data that feeds automation platforms and AI-driven systems.

The solution is supported by the Powercast BT smartphone app, available on Apple iOS and Google Play Stores, which enables real-time visibility into environmental conditions and data across multiple deployed tags.

As organizations scale connected infrastructure, the challenge is no longer just deploying devices, it’s sustaining entire systems reliably over time. Powercast addresses this by delivering a persistent wireless power layer that keeps devices continuously operating as part of a cohesive, long-term deployment unlocking consistent, scalable data pipelines that power smarter operations and autonomous systems.

“Sensors Converge brings together the technologies shaping the future of smart infrastructure. Being named a finalist for Best Smart Infrastructure Solution reflects how we’re enabling not just sensors, but complete, self-sustaining systems that generate the continuous data required to power automation and AI at scale, said Charles Goetz, CEO of Powercast. ”

The Best of Sensors Awards recognize the industry’s most impactful innovations, honoring technologies that advance sensing, connectivity, and infrastructure at scale.

Powercast will exhibit at Sensors Converge 2026 booth #837, taking place May 5–7 in Santa Clara, California, where attendees can experience how wireless power enables complete, scalable edge systems.

Note: The Newest Powercast Edge Node is currently available as a sub-assembly and development kit.
